2026 Pricing

Spectrum Internet plans and pricing

Spectrum’s pitch is simplicity: no contract, no data cap, a modem included, and one price for twelve months. The prices below are Spectrum’s current advertised online rates for new residential customers — and every one of them is explicitly a twelve-month rate, which is the part worth planning around.

Every price on these cards is a twelve-month promotional rate. Standard rates apply from month 13, and Spectrum does not publish a single national standard rate — ask us for the year-two number attached to your address before you order.

Prices shown are Spectrum’s current advertised online rates for new residential customers with no Spectrum service in the past 30 days, and are explicitly twelve-month promotional rates — standard rates apply after the promotional period or after a service change. Prices exclude taxes and an activation fee. Gig speeds require a compatible modem. Advanced WiFi is included with Internet Gig and Invincible WiFi with Internet 2 Gig; 2 Gig is available in select markets only. Advertised speeds are maximums for a wired connection; actual throughput, especially over Wi-Fi, varies and is not guaranteed. Availability, tiers and promotions are set by Spectrum, vary by address and can change. We confirm what actually applies at your address before you order.

The Part That Gets Skipped

What Spectrum actually costs in year two

Spectrum is unusually clean on the things that trip people up elsewhere — no contract, no data cap, no equipment rental, no early termination fee. It is not clean on this one.

Every internet price Spectrum advertises carries the words “for 1 year”. In its own offer terms: “Standard rates apply after promo period or service change.” Spectrum does not publish a single national standard rate, because it varies by market and by the plan you are on — but industry tracking consistently puts the step-up at roughly $20 to $30 a month, and month 13 is when it lands.

That is not a criticism of Spectrum so much as a fact about how to compare it. A $30 plan that becomes $50 or more is still competitive — but only if you knew that going in.

The genuinely new thing: a two-year price guarantee

Spectrum now sells bundles with a two-year price guarantee rather than a twelve-month promotion — currently 500 Mbps with two Mobile lines at $90/mo. for two years (down from $110), and TV + Internet + Mobile at $130/mo. for two years (down from $150). If the year-two step-up is what worries you, this is the honest answer to it, and it is the offer most people ordering through a web form never see.

Reading It Straight

Three things worth knowing before you compare

Internet Gig quietly includes $10/mo. of WiFi

Advanced WiFi costs $10/mo. on the 100 and 500 Mbps tiers but is included with Internet Gig. So the real gap between Premier at $40 and Gig at $60 is $10 a month, not $20 — assuming you would have added Advanced WiFi anyway. On 2 Gig the same logic applies with Invincible WiFi at $30/mo.

The free mobile year is one line, not the account

“Spectrum Mobile free for a year” applies to the first line only, delivered as up to twelve months of bill credits, and devices are not included. It is a real saving — Spectrum values it at $480 — but a family porting four lines is getting one of them free, not four.

The $1,000 savings guarantee has conditions

It requires Internet Advantage or higher plus at least two paid Unlimited Mobile lines, and you must submit competitor bills within 60 days to qualify. It is a first-year comparison against what you were paying elsewhere — not a cash payment, and not automatic. We will tell you whether your situation actually clears the bar.

The Real Number

What your Spectrum bill will actually look like

Pick a plan, add what you would really order, and see year one and the month-13 estimate side by side before taxes. Built from Spectrum’s own published rates.

Spectrum monthly cost calculator

Estimates only — taxes, activation and market-specific promotions are not included.

$40.00/mo.

Internet Premier, 500 Mbps, year one, before taxes

Internet, first 12 months$40.00

Estimated from month 13

about $65.00/mo.

Spectrum does not publish a single national standard rate, so the month-13 figure assumes a $25/mo. step-up on internet, which is the middle of the range typically reported.

Taxes and an activation fee are not included. Ask us for the exact year-two number attached to the offer at your address.

Calculator figures use Spectrum's published rates: internet at the advertised twelve-month promotional price, Advanced WiFi $10/mo. (included with Internet Gig), Invincible WiFi $30/mo. (included with Internet 2 Gig), Spectrum Mobile Unlimited at $30/mo. per line with the first line free for twelve months, and current TV package pricing. Month-13 figures apply an assumed $25/mo. internet step-up and a $20/mo. TV step-up, because Spectrum does not publish standard rates nationally — treat them as a planning estimate, not a quote. Taxes and activation fees are excluded. Call us for the exact numbers attached to your address.

Plan Selection

Which Spectrum speed do I actually need?

A single 4K stream uses roughly 25 Mbps. A video call uses about 5 Mbps. Most households buy far more download speed than they use — and on a cable network the number that actually constrains you is upload, which no tier fixes entirely.

1–2 people

100 Mbps genuinely covers browsing, email, video calls and streaming on a few devices. If your household is two people and a TV, the cheaper tier is not a compromise — it is the right answer.

3–5 people

500 Mbps is the sweet spot and Spectrum's most-taken tier. Several 4K streams, a couple of video calls and a console downloading in the background without anyone noticing anyone else.

Busy or device-heavy homes

1 Gig buys headroom rather than a different experience — and it includes Advanced WiFi, which narrows the real gap from 500 Mbps to about $10 a month. That inclusion is usually what decides it.

Large homes, heavy use

2 Gig exists in select markets and includes Invincible WiFi with 5G backup and an 8-hour battery. Very few homes need 2 Gig of throughput; some genuinely want the backup.

The longer walkthrough with real-world numbers is in our guide to Spectrum Internet plans and which tier fits your home, and the 2 Gig question specifically in is Spectrum's 2 Gig plan worth it.

Honest Answer

Is Spectrum fiber? Here is Spectrum's own answer

Spectrum markets "Fiber-Powered Internet", which sounds like fiber to the home and is not. To Spectrum's credit, they now spell it out on their own site rather than leaving it to the small print:

"Fiber-Powered Internet uses an advanced hybrid fiber coaxial (HFC) infrastructure, which includes fiber for the vast majority of the network pathway before transitioning to coaxial to connect to the premises." — spectrum.com

Every page of their site carries the line "Spectrum Internet is powered by fiber and connected to the premises by coaxial lines." That is an accurate description of HFC, and it is more forthcoming than most cable operators manage.

What it means for you is the last stretch. Fiber runs to a neighbourhood node; coaxial cable covers the final distance to your house. Download speeds are genuinely fast and Spectrum's reliability record is strong. Upload is where the difference shows — a cable plan delivers a fraction of its download speed upstream, where a fiber plan delivers the same in both directions.

Speed & Technology

Download, upload and latency

Download is the number everyone advertises and the one that matters least past about 300 Mbps. It governs streaming and page loads, both of which plateau early.

Upload is the number that separates networks, and it is the honest weak point of any cable plan including Spectrum's. If you upload large files, run multi-person video calls all day, or stream to an audience, this is the thing to weigh against a fiber provider at your address — and it is the single most useful reason to have someone check what else reaches you.

Latency is the delay before data starts moving, and it is what gamers and remote workers notice. Spectrum's HFC network holds up well for gaming in practice; it is not the weakness that upload is. Real figures vary by address, by node congestion and by time of day, and we do not publish a number for your home because we cannot know it in advance.

Spectrum Mobile

Spectrum Mobile — the strongest part of the offer

Spectrum Mobile is available only to Spectrum Internet customers and requires Auto Pay. It runs as an MVNO on a nationwide 5G network with access to Spectrum's WiFi hotspots, and on price it is one of the more competitive per-line options in the market.

PlanPer additional lineHigh-speed dataHotspot
Unlimited$30/mo.30 GB, then speeds may slow at busy times5 GB
Unlimited Plus$40/mo.50 GB, then speeds may slow at busy times10 GB
Unlimited Plus Premium$50/mo.Premium tier with the largest allowances50 GB

Free for a full year

Spectrum Mobile is free for twelve months with Spectrum Internet — first line only, delivered as up to twelve months of bill credits. Devices are not included, and smartwatches and tablets do not qualify.

No contracts, no added taxes

Unlimited talk, text and data with no contract and no added taxes or hidden fees. An activation fee applies, and Spectrum Internet plus Auto Pay are required to keep the service.

Switching help

Spectrum currently offers up to $2,500 toward the remaining balance on phones you are leaving behind, and Unlimited Plus includes international coverage in 215+ countries.

The detail that decides it

Spectrum Mobile only exists alongside Spectrum Internet — cancel the internet and the mobile goes with it. That is fine if you are settled, and a real consideration if you move often or expect to switch providers. The $30 line is genuinely cheap; just price it knowing it is tied to the internet account, and remember the free year covers one line rather than the household.

Full numbers are in our guides to Spectrum Mobile plans, pricing and coverage, whether the Mobile bundle is worth adding, and Spectrum One explained.

Television

Spectrum TV packages

Spectrum TV now leans on streaming apps included at no extra cost and needs no cable box. Package pricing below is Spectrum's current advertised rate, and like internet it runs for twelve months.

PackageLive channelsPrice, 12 monthsWhat it adds
Mi Plan Latino170+$75/mo.Spanish and English channels including ESPN Deportes, FOX Deportes, Estrella TV
TV Select Signature150+$100/mo.The base lineup, with top streaming apps included
TV Select Plus160+$110/mo.Regional Sports Networks and the Tennis Channel
TV Platinum230+$145/mo.Ad-free streaming apps, premium channels, Sports View, Entertainment+

Sports View — $10/mo.

NFL Network, NBA TV and similar. Cheaper than jumping a whole tier if sports is the only reason you were considering it.

Entertainment+ — $25/mo.

70+ channels plus HBO Max and Paramount+ with Showtime. Included in TV Platinum.

Premium channels — from $5/mo.

Added individually. Worth pricing against Platinum before assuming the bigger package is better value.

TV promotional pricing runs for twelve months, after which standard rates apply, and excludes taxes, fees and any equipment. Channel counts, lineups and package availability vary by market. Streaming apps included with a package are subject to Spectrum's own terms and can change. Confirm the lineup for your address before ordering — a channel you care about is a better basis for choosing than a channel count.

Equipment, Fees & Contracts

What you pay beyond the plan price

The modem is free. The WiFi is not.

Every Spectrum Internet plan includes the modem at no cost — genuinely free, not "free for 12 months". What is not included on the cheaper tiers is the WiFi: Advanced WiFi is $10/mo. and Invincible WiFi is $30/mo., with Advanced included on Internet Gig and Invincible included on Internet 2 Gig. Budget for one of them unless you are supplying your own router.

Activation and installation

An activation fee applies and is not in the advertised price. Self-install is the cheaper path; professional installation costs more, commonly around $65, with self-install and activation charges typically in the $10–$30 range depending on market and promotion. Self-install is straightforward for most homes — our self-install walkthrough covers it.

Data caps and contracts

Spectrum has no data caps, no overage charges and no annual contract, on internet or mobile. Service is month-to-month and cancelling carries no early termination fee. This is the part of the offer that is genuinely as simple as advertised.

Returning equipment

The most common avoidable charge on a Spectrum account is an unreturned-equipment fee after cancelling. Keep the receipt from whichever return method you use — our equipment return guide exists because this catches people every month.

What actually changes your bill

Two things, in order: the twelve-month promotional rate ending, and adding services mid-term. Spectrum does not layer on the surcharges some competitors do, but a service change can also reset your promotional pricing — worth asking before you upgrade rather than after.

Low-income options

Spectrum Internet Assist offers reduced-price service to households that qualify through specific assistance programmes. It is not advertised prominently and it is not the same as a promotional rate. Details are in our Spectrum Internet Assist guide, and we will check eligibility if you ask.

Head to Head

How Spectrum compares

Spectrum's strengths are coverage, simplicity and mobile pricing. Its weaknesses are upload speed and the year-two step-up. Whether that trade works depends entirely on who else reaches your address — every row below is address-dependent.

Every column above varies by address, by market and by current promotion, and competitor terms change frequently. Network type cannot be determined from a ZIP code — two homes on the same street can be served by different technologies from the same provider. Competitor details are summarised from each provider's published materials. Treat this as a framework for the conversation rather than a quote.

Straight Talk

Is Spectrum the right call for you?

We are compensated when you order, and we would still rather you order the right thing. Here is the honest split — the same one we would give you on the phone.

Spectrum is a strong choice when…

  • No fiber provider reaches your address — Spectrum's coverage is one of the broadest in the country
  • You want simple terms: no contract, no data cap, no equipment rental, no early termination fee
  • You have mobile lines to move — $30 a line with the first free for a year is genuinely competitive
  • You want internet and a full TV lineup on one bill
  • You will take the two-year price guarantee bundle rather than the twelve-month promo
  • You mostly download — streaming, browsing, gaming — rather than upload

Look elsewhere when…

  • Fiber is available at your address and you upload heavily or work from home all day
  • You will not renegotiate in month 13 and want a rate that simply holds
  • You need symmetrical speeds for creative work, backups or streaming out
  • You move often — the mobile line dies with the internet account
  • You are optimising for the lowest possible two-year total and a fiber promo beats it
  • The WiFi add-on pushes the real monthly cost past a better local option

Which column you land in is decided by your address, not by your preferences. That is precisely the check we do before anything is ordered — and if you land in the right-hand column, we will tell you which provider you should be talking to instead.

Why order Spectrum through Telemedia

Same Spectrum plans, same Spectrum price, same eligibility — with someone on this end who tells you the month-13 number before you order rather than after.

  • We quote year one and year two, not just the promo rate
  • We check every provider that reaches your address, not just Spectrum
  • We flag the two-year price-guarantee bundles most web forms never show
  • Live US agents, 24/7 — no hold queue, no call-back promises
Not sure Spectrum is right for you?

Then let's check every provider that reaches you — not just this one.

This is the part most provider websites will not do. We are an independent authorized retailer for several national providers, so we have no reason to push you toward Spectrum if something else serves your address better. We check what is actually available, compare the real numbers including what happens when the promotion ends, and place the order at the provider's own price.

How It Works

How we check availability

  1. You give us the address

Not the ZIP — the street address. Serviceability, which tiers you qualify for and which promotion applies are all decided at the address level.

  2. We check every provider that serves it

Spectrum first, then everyone else with a footprint there. If a fiber provider reaches you and your usage points that way, we say so.

  3. We quote the real number

Year one, the month-13 estimate, activation, WiFi, mobile lines and TV if you want it. No hold music, no retention script.

  4. We place the order and stay reachable

Same plans, same eligibility, same terms and same price as ordering direct. You keep one point of contact through installation and after.

Why order Spectrum through an authorized retailer covers this in more detail.

Spectrum Internet at home

Where Spectrum serves

Spectrum is one of the largest cable operators in the United States, serving 41 states with particularly dense coverage in Texas, the Southeast, the Midwest, California and New York. Texas is where most of our customers are.

Being in a served city does not mean being at a served address. Check the detail in our Spectrum availability guide, or start with internet providers in Dallas, TX — or just give us the address.

Charter and Cox are merging

Charter, Spectrum's parent, is combining with Cox. For existing Spectrum customers the practical answer today is that nothing changes on your bill or your service — we track it in what the Charter-Cox merger means for Spectrum customers.

FAQ

Spectrum questions we get asked most

How much is Spectrum Internet a month?

Spectrum's current advertised online rates are $30/mo. for Internet Advantage at 100 Mbps, $40/mo. for Internet Premier at 500 Mbps, $60/mo. for Internet Gig at 1 Gbps and $70/mo. for Internet 2 Gig in select markets. Every one of those is a twelve-month rate, after which standard rates apply, and all exclude taxes and an activation fee.

What happens to my bill after 12 months?

The promotional rate ends and Spectrum's standard rate applies. Spectrum does not publish a single national standard rate because it varies by market and plan, but the step-up is commonly reported at roughly $20 to $30 a month. We will tell you the specific number attached to your offer before you order — and if the step-up is the concern, ask about the two-year price guarantee bundles instead.

Does Spectrum have a price guarantee?

On standard internet plans, no — the advertised price runs twelve months. Spectrum does now sell bundles with a two-year price guarantee, currently 500 Mbps with two Mobile lines at $90/mo. and TV + Internet + Mobile at $130/mo. If you want a rate that holds, that is the route.

Does Spectrum have data caps?

No. There are no data caps and no overage charges on any Spectrum residential internet plan.

Is there a contract with Spectrum?

No. Spectrum internet and mobile are month-to-month with no annual contract and no early termination fee.

Is Spectrum fiber or cable?

Cable — specifically hybrid fiber-coaxial. Spectrum's own site puts it plainly: "Fiber-Powered Internet uses an advanced hybrid fiber coaxial (HFC) infrastructure, which includes fiber for the vast majority of the network pathway before transitioning to coaxial to connect to the premises." Fiber runs to a neighbourhood node and coaxial covers the last stretch to your house. Download speeds are fast; upload is where it differs from true fiber.

What are Spectrum's upload speeds?

Well below the download speed, as on any cable network — the exact figure varies by tier and market. If you upload large files, run multi-person video calls all day or stream to an audience, this is the number to weigh against a fiber provider at your address, and it is the main reason to have someone check what else reaches you.

Is the modem free? What about WiFi?

The modem is included free with every plan, permanently. WiFi is separate: Advanced WiFi is $10/mo. and Invincible WiFi is $30/mo. Advanced WiFi is included with Internet Gig and Invincible WiFi with Internet 2 Gig, which is why the real gap between the 500 Mbps and Gig tiers is closer to $10 a month than $20.

What is Invincible WiFi?

Spectrum's top WiFi tier at $30/mo., included with Internet 2 Gig. It adds everything in Advanced WiFi plus automatic 5G backup if the cable connection drops and an 8-hour backup battery. For a household that works from home, the backup is the part worth paying for.

How much is Spectrum installation?

An activation fee applies on every order and is not in the advertised price. Self-install is the cheaper route, with self-install and activation charges commonly in the $10 to $30 range; professional installation costs more, typically around $65. Exact charges vary by market and promotion, so confirm before ordering.

Is Spectrum good for gaming?

Yes, in practice. Latency on Spectrum's HFC network holds up well for gaming, and 500 Mbps is more than enough throughput. The weakness of cable is upload rather than ping, so competitive gaming is fine — streaming your gameplay out at high bitrate is where you would feel the difference against fiber.

How much is Spectrum Mobile?

$30/mo. per additional line on Unlimited, $40/mo. on Unlimited Plus and $50/mo. on Unlimited Plus Premium, with unlimited talk, text and data and no added taxes. Spectrum Mobile is free for a full year with Spectrum Internet — first line only, as up to twelve months of bill credits.

Can I get Spectrum Mobile without Spectrum Internet?

No. Spectrum Mobile requires an active Spectrum Internet account plus Auto Pay, and the mobile service ends if the internet account does. That matters if you move often or expect to switch providers.

Does Spectrum Mobile slow down my data?

After 30 GB of cellular data on Unlimited, or 50 GB on Unlimited Plus, speeds may slow during times of high demand. Hotspot allowances are 5 GB, 10 GB and 50 GB across the three plans respectively, with speeds reduced after that.

What is the $1,000 savings guarantee?

A first-year savings comparison against what you were paying elsewhere, not a cash payment. It requires Internet Advantage or higher plus at least two paid Unlimited Mobile lines, and you must submit competitor bills within 60 days to qualify. Existing internet customers must switch at least two lines. We will tell you honestly whether your situation clears the bar.

Which Spectrum TV package should I pick?

Start from the channels you actually watch rather than the count. TV Select Signature is $100/mo. for 150+ channels, Select Plus $110/mo. adds Regional Sports and the Tennis Channel, and Platinum is $145/mo. for 230+ with premium channels and ad-free apps included. If sports is the only reason to move up a tier, the $10/mo. Sports View add-on is usually cheaper.

Do I need a cable box for Spectrum TV?

No. Current Spectrum TV packages need no cable box and include top streaming apps at no extra cost, with the Spectrum TV app available on Xumo, Roku and Apple TV.

Is Spectrum available in my area?

Spectrum serves 41 states and is one of the broadest footprints in the country, but availability is determined address by address. Call (469) 960-3311 and we will check your exact address while you are on the line.

What does the Charter-Cox merger mean for me?

For existing Spectrum customers, nothing changes on your bill or your service today. The detail is in our merger explainer, which we keep current as the deal progresses.

Why is there no availability form on this page?

Because a ZIP-code form cannot answer the question honestly. Serviceability, which tiers you qualify for and which promotion applies are confirmed at the street-address level against the provider's own systems. A form that says "available in your area" based on a ZIP is telling you something it does not know.

Does ordering through Telemedia Solutions cost more?

No. You order the same Spectrum plans and promotional offers available at your address, on the same terms and eligibility, at the same price. We are compensated by the provider on completed orders, and that never changes what you pay.

Are you part of Spectrum?

No. Telemedia Solutions is an independent authorized retailer for multiple U.S. providers including Spectrum, AT&T, Optimum, Frontier, EarthLink and DIRECTV. Spectrum owns the network, delivers the service, sets the pricing and handles billing, installation and support.

Who do I call if something goes wrong after installation?

Spectrum handles billing, technical support and service calls, since they own the network. You can also come back to us — we stay reachable after the order and will help you get to the right place instead of leaving you in a phone queue.

How do I know the numbers on this page are current?

Every figure here is checked against Spectrum's own published materials before it goes live, and anything that varies by address is labelled as such rather than quoted as fact. You can read how we research internet and TV providers, our editorial standards, and why consumers trust Telemedia Solutions.
